The
Civil War Soldiers Museum was founded in 1991, and exhibits the private
collection of Dr. Norman W. Haines, Jr., a local physician, who began collecting as a boy near the Antietam Battlefield. Experience what it was
like to serve during the Civil War. The Museum's diverse collection offers
wonderful insights into our nation's rich history.
The Pensacola Room highlights the contributions of Stephen R. Mallory, the
renowned Confederate Secretary of Navy, and the handmade First National Confederate flag captured by Wilson's New York Zouaves during the Battle of
Santa Rosa Island, October 9, 1861. |
